Yahoo And Mac Mail

   Hi everyone !

   I've been desperately trying to set up my mail box in Mac Mail but I have a problem.

   - I have a Yahoo account
   - I create an account in Mac Mail with all the correct informations

   Result : Incoming mails work fine but I can't send a single mail !

   So I had a look on Google and I found a post about a guy that created a second account on Yahoo using a Gmail adress so I did exactely what he did but it didin't work !

   So do you guys now why it's so hard for me to send a mail ?

   According to Wikipedia:
   POP3 support in some countries (but not in the US). However, SMTP support requires upgrade to a Plus account.

   Unless you're in the US, I would guess that you're in one of the countries with POP3 support (what lets you receive emailin a client like Mail), but not SMTP (which lets you send email through a client like Mail).

   I'm not familiar with any tricks with using a Gmail address for Yahoo, but Gmail itself has full POP, SMTP, and IMAP support, so you might want to just give that a try. You could also take advantage of Yahoo's POP feature and have Gmail retrieve all your emails through that, and then just use your Gmail for sending out emails.

   correct: you need a Yahoo Plus account to get your mail through Mail.

   You can, however, get Gmail into your Mail inbox. Mail makes it really easy - add a new account, type in your Gmail addy, and let it take care of the rest!!
