Eliminate Name of Apps in dock

I'm wondering whether there's a way to eliminate the name showing of the apps on the dock when I put my cursor over them?

Hi,

I haven't heard of any way to do this, so I went on a thorough search on the internet for some terminal script that would have that effect, but unfortunately I couldn't find anything.

Can I ask why you don't want to see the application names? Maybe there's some alternative.

Nothing specific that caused me to think about eliminating the name, just curious. And if there is a way, that'd be sweet.
