One of my least favorite things about OmniOutliner is that, by default, little check boxes appear next to each line of text in your document. I found this incredibly annoying, since they were totally unnecessary for what I wanted the application to do for me, and I didn’t realize that there was a simple way to remove them. Now that I have discovered that they are quite removable, I use OmniOutliner constantly, and love it!

Here is how to remove those pesky check boxes:

1. Select the rows you want to remove checks from
      2. Select Edit
      3. Under “Set Status,” select “None”

This also works if you are trying to mark more than one row checked or unchecked simultaneously.

Omnioutliner-Econ-Notes
OmniOutliner is the fantastic outlining program from The Omni Group. The Omni Group is a software development company that consistently produces high quality applications such as OmniWeb and OmniGraffle.

I use OmniOutliner on a daily basis for a variety of things including planning/brainstorming projects, todo lists, taking notes in class and keeping track of goals/deadlines.

In short, if you don’t have OmniOutliner, get it.

Be sure to check out OmniOutliner Extras for useful scripts, example documents and plugins.
