To block certain apps for certain users, go to System Preferences -> Parental Controls. Then highlight the user to be limited and select the “System” tab. Then check “Only allow selected applications”, and choose from the list (put a check next to each of the applications you wish to ALLOW them to use).

The stupid translucent menu bar in Leopard annoys me beyond annoyance, here’s an easy way to make it nice and solid like a good menu bar should be. Here’s a simple little hack that add the ability to separate items in your “Places” section of the Leopard Finder sidebar.
