Spore has been released for Windows and Mac, and is one of the biggest video game launches in recent memory for either platform…but especially for Macs. We don’t get a lot of high profile games day and date with their PC or console counterparts, and I’m happy to say that EA has committed to the Mac, and delivered both the PC and Mac versions of the game on one DVD that is available now.
You can read my ongoing review of “Spore” here.
If you’re getting bored or frustrated with the game, or you just like to cheat - we do have a really good “Spore” tip for you today.
In the game, hit Control+Option+C and it will open up a console screen. Once that is open you can use any of the following codes below to perform a variety of cheats in the game:
addDNA - increase your DNA points
AntiAliasGIF - Antialiad GIF captures and set a background color
capturePlanetGIF - captures a spinning GIF of the planet you’re on
clear - clears the debug console
freeCan - toggles free camera mode
freedom - [on | off] enables and disabled editor complexity limits. Creations that break the limits will not be pollinated.
Help - list all help cheats
History - list the last n commands in the command history
Killallhints - remove all hints from the game
Levels - level cheats
moreMoney - increases your money in civilization or space
Movie - movie cheat
Option - lists option or set of options
PauseUIVisible - set or toggles whether the pause frame is drawn

settime - Sets the time of day at the avatars position
spaceCreate - unlocks and recharges creation tools while playing in space

toggleCaptureUI - toggles UI Image capture

The key combination on a Mac is: command + option + C, not control as the post stated.
(On my mac keyboard option is also labeled 'alt', so adjust as necessary)
Hope that helps anyone who is having trouble getting the cheat console to come up.

Shaz!
no matter what machine you are on.... just minimize all open windows, better yet, close all open windows.
Click on the desktop, and press "ctrl + shift + c"... if this shortcut key is already in use, then some software or the other will open. on most hp laptops, it is set for 'hp health center'. now find the file that opens the program.
Right click on the file and click on properties. There should be a tab saying 'shortcut'.
Next, in that tab, look for where it says, "Shortcut key:".
You will see the shortcut key sequence "CTRL + SHIFT + C", already there. Now change this shortcut key sequence to anything you want, other than "ctrl + shift + c" of course...
Now press apply. If it asks for administrator password then give it.
press ok, and you r done.
Now run the game, and the console problem will have been solved hopefully.
I hope that helps! ;)

To run the Spore Creature Creator Demoo in Tiger, just edit the Info.plist file you'll find inside the demo application. Control-click on Spore Creature Creator.app, choose Show Package Contents from the pop-up menu, and open the Contents folder.
With Info.plist open in your favorite text editor, locate these strings:
MinimumSystemVersion
10.5.3
Edit the strings as follows:
MinimumSystemVersion
10.4.11
Save the changes and quit the editor. The demo works great on a first generation 3GHz Mac Pro with an ATI X1900XT video card. November 12th, 2008 at 10:35 am
