Quickly Change Default Application for File

An easy way to change the default application for a file is to right click (Control+Click) a file and hold option while selecting an application from the “Always Open With” menu.

Please note this only changes the default application for that one file–not every file with this type. See our other post for assigning default applications.

I apologize for the lack of posting lately. Please bear with us–more content coming soon.

I hate to say it, but thats not a tip. Everyone knows that. You havent been posting REALLY intresting tips lately and you dont post at least one tip a day. Mactips and the Mactips Widget are getting very boring. I used to look forward to getting a new tip for my Mac everyday after school, but now I dont. Instead, I'd rather go to Macworld.com for tips and news about Apple and Macs.

Not so nice comment Andres. Instead why don't you help Mactips with a submit? All in all you can't always have something that interest you everyday. Taste and how you use your mac makes the tips valuable or not for you.

    Regards.

  5. @Andreas "Everyone knows that" Really? I didn't. Just because you know something, don't assume everyone else knows the same - the world would be pretty borng if that were the case.
