Quick Tip: Cropping With Grab

200805292130.jpg

There’s usually more than one way to complete a task, there’s the fast way, and the slow way. The slow way to crop a photo from the internet would be to save it to your Downloads folder, open it in preview, then crop it.

The fast way is to hit Shift+Command+4 and take a screenshot of only the section of the picture that you need.

Now that tip is too freaking easy - made me feel almost stupid for not knowing it. I have been using the "Jing" program to do the exact same thing and it takes SO much longer to do what that tip does in a millisecond.

GREAT TIP ! .. I wish you could choose the file format though

  2. Dan, You can do this with a quick terminal command: http://www.mactips.org/archives/2007/12/28/change-the-screenshot-format/
