I thought it would be interesting to see everyone else’s desktops.
To take a screenshot of your desktop, press Command+Shift+3.
This saves an image of your active screen straight to your desktop. The filename generally starts with “Picture”.
To upload your screenshot, head on over to http://www.mactips.org/uploader.php.
Copy/Paste the code from the text box into the comment field.

Here’s my desktop, what’s yours?
(Note: The thumbnails link to the full-sized images, which can be very large. Files may take a moment to download.)

It's an awesome program, does updates every X minutes and is extremely customizable.
The only problem is it costs $23. There is OSXPlanet (http://www.osxplanet.com/) which is free, but doesn't support Leopard.
I'm looking for other solutions, but I haven't found any yet. May 7th, 2008 at 10:34 pm

Am I correct that your "O'Hara Bitches" refers to Cardinal O'Hara? I also don't see the new Comcast Center - gotta update your pic ;)

I use the circles to organize stuff. The HD icon is a croc from Pearls Before Swine (comic strip). In the lower left hand corner is an applescript that I drop files onto to archive them into a separate Gmail account.
If I'm trying to memorize something, I'll put the text of that something into the center circle. Then, I'll see it whenever I look at my desktop.
Finally, the HD icon isn't actually the HD, but an alias to the HD with the name being " ". That way it doesn't show any text. Also, the icon is a 1% opaque square so that I can easily drop stuff onto my HD, but still have a nice big icon for it. :D (You can see the arrow for the alias to the left of the red line.
BTW, I made it all in Keynote.
Well, that's all I have to say about it.

MacTipper, I really like that idea--have you written a tip on this?
LifeIsAGas, Go to http://www.mactips.org/uploader.php and upload the screenshot of your desktop (Command+Shift+4).
Then you'll see a screen with some code on it inside a textbox (like the comment box here).
Copy and paste that code into the comments box.
Also, the uploader will accept desktop backgrounds, so if you'd like to share your image simply upload it and paste the link. May 8th, 2008 at 5:11 pm

PS. Desktopple Basic (not Lite, I messed up) is at http://foggynoggin.com/desktopple/basic. They don't really promote it that much.
PPS. Skitch is public beta, and it's at http://skitch.com/ (that's easy to remember!) May 8th, 2008 at 6:27 pm

Took this shot without looking as i was walking home. The black and white theme is from an icon set called Blend, plus a couple of others. Icons desaturated with IconFactory plugin for photoshop (free trial period) May 8th, 2008 at 7:57 pm

This is the screen on my spankin new 24" iMac. The wallpaper rotates through a series of parrots. Lovin' the huge widescreen. I was using a MacBook as my main machine, this thing looks ridiculous! :o) May 10th, 2008 at 7:23 pm

If you are interested in knowing what Guy Kawasaki, Fake Steve Jobs or Dilbert creator Scott Adams has on his desktop, I'm running an interview series called "Show Me Your Desktop".
Season 2 is about to end, but season 3 isn't far away.
