Customizing Desktop and Finder Appearance

Have you ever wanted your desktop to look like the picture above? Of course not, but you might want things like bigger font, picture/document previews built into your icons, different grid sizing, basic information about your files and folders, and/or larger icons.

You can accomplish this not only on the desktop, but any finder folder/window by Control+Clicking, and selecting “Show view options”

    On the new MacBook Pros with the multi-touch trackpad, all you have to do is zoom in or out while focused on the desktop to zoom the icons in and out. Works pretty well for those who have it.

    So where did you get that desktop background? I like it.

  3. @Matt: It's this old drainage tunnel near my rival high school. My friend took the pic with his Nikon D40 and ran the PS filter that he runs on all his pics
