Quote Specific Section in Reply on Mail.app

Mail.app has a handy feature that lets you only quote a specific section when replying to an e-mail.

To accomplish this, select the block of text you want to quote:

Click reply and you’ll have a new message with only the selected text quoted:

This is great when CC’ing someone without showing them the entire e-mail–only the part you want them to focus on.

   Hmm, it didn't work for me. It still included everything in the original e-mail — not just the selected text. Sure this works with Mail 3.2 — or is it still awaiting Leopard compatibility?

   Only worked when I already had chosen the checkbox to include text in the original text in the reply. I rarely want to do that so I never use that. I do want to include snippets of text sometimes in a reply or forward and your highlighting tip doesn't work for that. Wish it did. April 25th, 2008 at 7:32 pm

   just tried it a couple of times - worked fine.
   
   I thought it would, since I do this all the time, and have been doing it back as far as I can remember (pre-Leo)

   wait! I just remembered something!
   
   go to your Mail prefs, to "Composing"
   Do you have "include all of the original message" checked, instead of "include only the text selected"?? April 25th, 2008 at 10:54 pm
