While switching between operating systems, I’ve never been able figure out how Boot Camp decides which OS to run. Sometimes it would boot OS X, and sometimes Windows–it seemed completely random.
After browsing through the system preferences I came across the answer. Go to System Preferences -> Startup Disk and you can set a default system.

Now OS X will always boot by default. To override this, hold Option while your computer starts.

In Windows, you can also click the BootCamp icon in the System Tray and select re-start in OS X April 13th, 2008 at 6:17 am
