I used to play a lot of flash games and watch a lot of flash movies when I was a kid. But it seemed the only way that I could play them was through my browser (or by buying Flash 8). Then I discovered that you can download the flash files by right clicking and selecting save file to downloads. If I did this, I was left with a .swf file which I can’t really play with anything, so it was pretty useless.

Then along comes the aptly named SWF & FLV Player which does exactly what it’s supposed to do, and that is, play those previously unplayable games and videos. If you see a game or movie that you would like to play later, when offline, then save it to your computer, and open it with the player. It works the same as if it were running on your browser (including games).

Unfortunately, some games require the game to "ping back" for you to play it. I don't think that the player works to fix this. (So, you'll need to open the file while you're still connected to the internet.)
One comment I should probably add is that I always downloaded flash files from the activity monitor (Cmd-Option-A) in safari.
