Emailing Files (and Other Attachments) By Dragging and Dropping

Sometimes, the whole system of attaching a file can be quite tedious because you have to look up the file you wish to attach, even if it’s sitting right on your desktop. Here’s a quick tip that will skip all the tedious browsing required to attach a file.

200802271542.jpg If you drag a file on to the Mail.app dock icon, Mail will automatically create a new message with that file already attached to it. Alternately, if you want to add a file to an existing file, you can also drag and drop it into the message. The latter method is especially useful for photos because you can drop them to where ever you need them to be (rather than all at a clump at the top or bottom)

The same tip works for Entourage 2008 as well.

  2. Thanks for the heads up, James
