How To: Translucent Menu Bar in 10.5.2

Just in case you can’t find where the new setting is to change the translucent setting in 10.5.2, it’s in System Preferences > Desktop & Screen Saver and uncheck “Translucent Menu Bar”.

This allows you to go from this:

leopard transparent menu bar

to this:

Screens

I just installed 10.5.2 and the System Preferences for DESKTOP AND SCREEN SAVER do NOT have a parameter for Translucent Menu Bar. I checked both tabs.

  2. It's under Desktop look down and it says:
    Change picture ...
    Random order
    Translucent Menu Bar

I have the same problem. Updated to 10.5.2 on my PPC G4 and I have no option in Desktop and Screensaver to enable the transparent menu bar. There is no checkbox whatsoever below Random Order.

  4. Try out this: http://www.mactips.org/archives/2008/02/12/no-translucent-menu-bar-toggle/. However I doubt it will, I don't think older machines are able to the special effect at all.

Yeah, no dice. Which is strange, as I had transparent menubars *before* the 10.5.2 update...
