Right around the time OS X 10.5, Leopard, was released, I discussed how to enable Application Binding in Spaces, a part of Spaces which forces OS X to switch to assigned spaces when new windows or applications are opened. The way enabling this feature was described was straightforward and easy, but slow. It turns out that there is a much faster of doing this available.
This expedited method of assigning spaces to applications begins in the same way as the original method. Launch System Preferences and select the “Exposé & Spaces” pane under the “Personal” heading. Now, find the applications which you want to assign to spaces in a Finder window. Simply drag-and-drop the application files from Finder onto any of the small rectangles in System Preferences that represent spaces, and the applications will be bound to that space.
