Stacks Icons that Work

I, like Omer, dislike how Stacks automatically shows the file that’s at the top of the list as your Stacks icon. It looks ugly and it’s not very informative either. I tried using Omer’s method but it still looked a littlelooked tacky to me (no offense). That’s why I was enthralled when I came across these Stacks Icons.

They’re little translucent icons that you drag into your stacks manually (no installation needed) and they appear over everything else, kind of like a plastic drop box you’d find in a cubicle. After dragging the icon into the Stack, they immediately apply themselves, then end result looks like this:

  1. Unfortunately this wouldn't work for me - to make the icon show up at all in the stack I had to change its extension to .png, and then it sat as the first item in the stack, which was kind of irritating. Looks gorgeous though!

  2. Thanks for sharing, Paul. I was having a little trouble with my download stack but just dragging the icon out, then dragging it back in made it work again

These look great! Thanks for sharing. I also had an initial problem with the icons not showing up- just dragged it out of the stack and then back in and it works. (just like previous post says.)

I don't get this icons to work, i have tried converting to .png and drag them into the stacks, in and out but they keep apearing in the dock as a separte icon. Are they supposed to be as an image inside the folder which they are representing?? for example if it is the download stack, when i download a new file it comes in the first position and the icon doesn't show because it comes in a second position...
    anyone can help me?

I had trouble with these stacks too!
However I found that if you right click and set the stack to 'display as stack' then it works!
Else if it's a folder then the icon just sits inside!
