Xinema: Full Screen Without Paying Full Price

The good folks who brought us Caffeine have developed yet another ingenious application called Xinema. As many of you may know, Quicktime does not come with Full screen support unless you purchase Quicktime Pro. This app supposedly solves that problem by creating a workaround. I have Quicktime pro so thus I have no need for this but if someone could try it out and leave their impressions in the comments, your help would be much appreciated.

    I'm reasonably certain that the latest release of Quicktime Player (non-Pro) unlocked full-screen for everyone.

    Actually, as of QT 7, it does play full-screen without having to purchase QT Pro. I use it repeatedly to watch Divx and Xvid videos.

    Well QuickTime couldn't go into Fullscreen without purchasing a licence until recently. This was changed though and is available in the latest version 7.3.1 on OS X 10.5.

    I think it was QT 7.2 that introduced it back into the normal player again.

  5. I also have QT Pro, however, I'm pretty sure that the most recent version of QT FRee has Full Screen.

    Although, if it doesn't, you can use applescript. (Read about that http://www.mactipper.com/2007/08/free-quicktime-fullscreen.html" rel="nofollow">here

  6. I think it's safe to say the latest version of QuickTime allows for full-screen mode.

    Good to know, I always thought it was cheap that it didn't.

    for older versions:
    open->script editor
    type
    tell application "QuickTime Player"
    present front document scale screen
    end tell

    save
    runscript
    tada!!!

    This brings back memories of when I used Apple's Quicktime script library to make Quicktime "Present Front Movie" without checking for Quicktime Pro, which was the same as doing Fullscreen. I always found it amusing because Apple themselves provided the script I was using on their website as a free download.
