Snitter for Posting to Twitter

For my fellow Twitterites here’s a cool app for posting to Twitter called Snitter (Snook’s Twitter). It’s free, powered by Adobe’s AIR and has even more features than it’s counterpart Twitteriffic (OSX only) which has two versions; one with ads inserted in between posts (free), and another ad-free version that costs $14.95. Because Snitter is powered by AIR it can be used on both Macs and PCs so go check it out.

By the way: Have a happy New Year everyone!

  1. I like the features Snitter offers, but still prefer Twitterific for its nicer design, and I don't really mind the ads.

  2. Yeah they're both good and have their own respective qualities; just giving people options. However, I still just get posts through RSS and post through TextMate.

  3. Off topic but I'd never heard of Adobe's AIR, seems interesting.

Does the user need to download a separate framework for it to work or is it included in the app?

    Also, how heavy is it?

  4. When you install Snitter, Adobe AIR is installed along with it. When you say how heavy is it; I'm going to assume that you mean does using the Flex framework slow it down? If so; it's quite fast, milliseconds of difference at startup of the application. While running normally it's using about 60 Real MBs of RAM and 450 MBs of virtual memory, and is pretty low in terms of CPU usage (>5%).
