Changing the leopard menubar back to solid (from the translucent look)

I love leopard, but I’m not a huge fan of the translucent menubar, with some wallpapers, it seems distracting. I found a nice little application that will fix this, and add the nice gradient.

The app is “menu bar tint” and you can download it here.

I use the darker one, and it looks really professional, regardless of the wallpaper.

  1. You can do this exact same thing with this command: sudo defaults write /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.WindowServer 'EnvironmentVariables' -dict 'CINOBACKGROUNDIMAGE’ 0.62

Yes, but some people may want a brighter or darker look, this app allows you to choose, that terminal command would need to be edited for each shade.

  3. Good to have both options, terminal command for advanced users and application for intermediate/beginning users.
