I was looking at my nice new iPhone headset, and thinking, this will get lost, or dropped quite easily.
I thought about making an ear clip, but it seems to stay in my ear OK, I am just worried about losing it if I pull something out of my pocket, or leave it on a desk somewhere.
I decided to make a clip for it that would attach to a lanyard. It was very quick and simple to make, and doesn’t look that bad. Looks even better when you consider it was free, and will hopefully save me losing a £79 headset.
Anyway, I used some fairly thick PVC plastic from some packaging, cut out an egg shape, and made the holes you can see in the pictures, and the slot which the headset clips in.
I may make a nicer looking one soon, but this soft plastic will not scratch or damage the headset, which was my primary concern.
I only wish I could patent this, but I have seen similar things before many times. I can imagine several styles coming to market soon.
