iStat menus - The Best Menu Bar Item to Monitor Your Mac

iStat menus is a great alternative and/or compliment to iStat Pro. Instead of working as a widget in Dashboard, like its sibling, iStat menus consists of eight sections that appear in your menu bar, along with other system processes and applications. It shows information on CPU usage, memory usage, disk usage and activity, networking, temperatures, fans, Bluetooth, and/or date & time. Produced by iSlayer, it seems to be nicer looking and far more user-friendly than the similar application MenuMeters.

Where did you get the calendar from? Is it also an iStat module?

  2. The calendar is also an iStat menus module, although I can't seem to figure out how to set it to also appear all the way to the right side. You might need to turn all the other menu bar items off first, then add them in the order you like.

Yeah, I got it. You can disable the System Clock via the "Date & Time" preference pane. Afterwards just enable the iStat menu clock and command-click on it. Hold the mouse button and move it to the right corner. :)

  4. Cool! I didn't know you could rearrange menu bar items using Command, but i'll write a tip for that now!

  5. You can also disable the System Clock by just dragging it off the menu bar while holding Command.
