Acorn - Simply Logical Image Editing

 Acorn Images Acornheader
Flying Meat’s Acorn is an amazingly simple but rich image editing application. It was clearly designed with simplicity in mind, which can immediately be seen in its iTunes-esque layout. Somehow, this application manages to do everything you could possibly want it to do. It really makes me feel better about not owning the ridiculously expensive Photoshop, since it does a great amount of the things Photoshop can do. And it makes them easier to do, too. The $39.95 price tag may seem large, but it is far cheaper than many of its competitors.

  1. Gimp is also very hard to use for beginners, only runs on X11, and isn't lightweight enough to really be useful for very small projects.

However, looking back, I do agree that it is very likely that Acorn is not the right choice for intermediate and advanced users.
