Remove Check Boxes from OmniOutliner

One of my least favorite things about OmniOutliner is that, by default, little check boxes appear next to each line of text in your document. I found this incredibly annoying, since they were totally unnecessary for what I wanted the application to do for me, and I didn’t realize that there was a simple way to remove them. Now that I have discovered that they are quite removable, I use OmniOutliner constantly, and love it!

Here is how to remove those pesky check boxes:

1. Select the rows you want to remove checks from
      2. Select Edit
      3. Under “Set Status,” select “None”

This also works if you are trying to mark more than one row checked or unchecked simultaneously.

  1. I just thought I'd mention that you can also show and hide all the checkboxes at once by selecting "Hide Status Checkboxes" from the View menu. And if you prefer that checkboxes start out hidden in new documents, you can edit your new document template in General Preferences.

    Hope this helps!
