To quickly access Spotlight in OS X 10.4, press Command-Space. To launch the “Top Hit” after entering your query, press Command-Enter. This is a great way to quickly launch applications if you are not a fan of Quicksilver, LaunchBar, or Butler, and an all-around useful tool for everything else.
