Running Linux on your iPod is nothing new. In-fact the project has been around for quite a while now. The problem was there weren’t stable versions for the newer iPod versions.
Now, however, they’ve released stable versions of iPod Linux for generations 1, 2 and 3. You can also try developmental versions on your Nano’s and Video iPods.
The installation process if fairly straight forward. Once you’ve installed iPod Linux you can install 3rd party applications and modules. Some of the coolest applications are in the Emulators section. This means you can play Gameboy/NES/Gamegear games on your iPod!
There are also other games specifically for the iPod like Doom, Tanks, Lemmings and Pacman.
If there is a problem installing iPodLinux, worst-case-scenario you have to format it and start over.
