What Do You Want To See On MacTips?

I’m always looking for ways to improve MacTips. One of the best ways I can do that is by asking you what you like or dislike about the site.

Here are a few questions to get you on track for the type of feedback I’m looking for.

  • Do you have a topic you’d like MacTips to write about?
  • What would you like to see done differently?
  • What would you like to see more of? Less of?
  • If you could change one thing, what would it be?
  • Which entries are your favorite? Why?
  • Do you tell people about MacTips? Why? Why not?
  • Is MacTips helpful in your daily life? Why? Why not?

As you can see I’m looking for all types of feedback. Criticism/praise/whatever. Give me your worst.

I check MacTips daily. I wouldn't consider myself a novice, nor would I consider myself an Apple Guru. The only thing about MacTips is simply that many of the tips are keyboard shortcuts (things I can find throughout OS X). Now, I'm not asking for super-advanced tips, if I want those, I go to osxhints.com - but somewhere inbetween would be nice. A couple of interesting keyboard shortcuts here, an applescript or two there...even a program that will help me get stuff done faster. I like MacTips, I think it's an especially good resource for new switchers and the like (and I dutifully recommend it when my friends "take the plunge"), but for people who have figured their way around OS X, it doesn't necessarily offer alot of new information.

I realize this comment may not be super-helpful, as I don't really know how to fix this kind of thing, but some slightly more advanced tips would be a start. Introduce people to the power of OS X. Thanks for caring about your visitors enough to ask them to berate you :) Keep up thte good work!

  2. Thanks for the feedback Bill.

I definitely see what you're talking about as far as "too many easy tips" goes. As of this comment, there are:

    35 Easy Tips
    6 Intermediate Tips
    3 Advanced Tips

Obviously there's lots of room for improvement in Intermediate/Advanced tips categories.

Thanks for the feedback Bill, I truly do appreciate it.

The only I'd like to see on MacTips right now is...

*SOME MAC TIPS!* This site needs to have a new tip every few days, or it's not worth the daily viewing.
