To quickly change the number of days show in iCal, use the 
keyboard shortcut. Number being any number between 1 and 7. For example, 
will switch to a 7 day calendar view like shown:
By pressing the same key combination, iCal will skip forward the amount of days you’re showing, allowing you to easily scan weekly/daily calendars.
