Goto Folder in Finder

An easy way to switch to another folder while in Finder is by pressing . The following dialog will popup:

Goto-Folder-Finder
You can now type any folder you wish to go to.

You can also use tab to complete any folder who’s name your in the middle of typing. For example, type “~/Do” and press tab. “~/Documents/” will be the completed text.

I use this shortcut a lot to quickly go to hidden files and folders that you know the path of. Saves you from command line!!!!

Windows equivilent......pray and maybe you will see it in Longhorn....or Vista....around 2010 or so....:-)

  2. I would like to know what path to use in the "go to folder" shortcut for our local servers (assuming that they are already connected and available in finder).

I would also like to know how to access the side bar in a finder window via the keyboard. It would be great to select any of the locations there for quicker access.
