Anybody know how to copy the full path for pasting later (into an email for example)? Currently, for lengthy folder paths, I drag and drop the item into the Terminal window and copy and paste the path from there--not exactly quick and easy...

You can do this in many other OS X apps... say you have a file open TextEdit, Command+click the title and you'll get the same drop down, showing the path to the file. I've found this to be very convenient when editing 2 files with the same filename, just in 2 different locations.

  3. I knew that if you double click on the titlebar it would minimize the window, but this one is new to me. Great tip, especially when spotlight finds a folder but you want to know the path.

  4. You can use this in Safari to go up directories on websites.

Does anyone know of any tweak that would actually display the full path of folder in Finder title bar? Command-click is a bit clumsy....

  6. DanD,

I am in the same position you are, often I find myself copying the folder to the Terminal window too just to copy the path. WIll definitely be looking for a tip to solve that.

    Lee,

    Thanks for clearing that up

    Grant,

Thanks for sharing, that should definitely come in handy.

Not what you are looking for but a good hint none the less. if you use your finder window's spotlight search bar (top right) the path of the item selected will be shown at the bottom. You can't copy or paste it but it shows you where to look at least. It might be helpful to know why you need to copy and paste the full path if you aren't using terminal then why?
